Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions used to start preparing for Ramadan months before it began, in order to derive maximum spiritual benefits from this blessed month. This program will be dedicated to learning about the importance of Ramadan, the ways to prepare for it, and the basic legal rulings concerning moon sighting, fasting, and I’tikaaf. The talk will focus on verses 183-189 of Surat al Baqarah.
Shaykh Husain Abdul Sattar, born and raised in Chicago, has consistently pursued sacred knowledge from traditional scholars in the U.S., Syria, and Pakistan for over a decade. He possesses several formal authorizations in the Islamic sciences including an authorization in the science of Islamic spirituality from Hazrat Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad. He holds a B.S. from the University of Chicago and an M.D. from the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine. |
